Crunchie Bar Tiffin Slice

Super easy to make. 

Requires just a handful of ingredients.

No baking involved. 

Costs 40p a slice (based on 12 slices).

  • 4 tbsp Golden Syrup
  • 200 grams Oaties Biscuits (or equivalent)
  • 1 bar White Chocolate 200g
  • 1 bar Milk Chocolate 200g
  • 150 grams Butter
  • 5 bars Crunchie


  1. Break up the milk chocolate and place it in a microwave bowl.  

  2. Add the golden syrup and butter to the chocolate.

  3. Slowly melt in the microwave.  I do mine in 30 second bursts and take it out to give it a good stir before putting it back in again.

  4. Crush the biscuits using a food processor until they look like breadcrumbs. 

  5. Crush the Crunchie bars.  For this I use a rolling pin as I want non-uniform chunks in the slices.

  6. Combine all the ingredients together and give it a good stir.

  7. Pour the contents in to a square baking tin (20cm) and push it down so that you have an even top surface.  Make sure to grease the inside of the tin, or better still line it so that you can lift the slab out easier once it has set.

  8. Melt the white chocolate in the microwave (as above).

  9. Add a layer of white chocolate to the top.

  10. Cover and leave to rest.  You could put it in the fridge if you want but I prefer just to leave mine to one side.

  11. Once set (usually about 3 hours), cut in to as many pieces as you like.  Serving with a hot cup of tea is optional!

Recipe Notes

All of my ingredients are bought in Aldi.  However any of the items can be found in any other supermarket.  Whilst I recommend making 12 slices you can make more or less depending on how much of a sweet tooth you have.
