If you love chocolate brownies, and you love creme eggs then this Cadbury Creme Egg Sticky Chocolate Brownies recipe is for you. From one of my earlier posts you will know that I really LOVE really sticky chocolate brownies. So I’ve used the same recipe and included some extra stickiness to it – creme eggs. Chocolate brownies + Creme Eggs = Chocolate Lovers Heaven.
The added bonus is that they don’t take very long to cook. By the time you have tidied away and put the kettle on, these will be ready to come out of the oven. A perfect accompaniment to that cup of tea. So without further to do I will crack on with the recipe details. Here’s how to make delicious Cadbury Creme Egg Sticky Chocolate Brownies.
Cadbury Creme Egg Sticky Chocloate Brownies
- 400 g caster sugar
- 225 g unsalted butter cut in to small pieces
- 60 g cocoa powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 4 eggs
- 225 g flour
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 60 g smashed up walnuts
- 5 Creme Eggs cut in half lengthways
First melt the unsalted butter and then add in the ingredients in the order listed all the way down to (and including) the walnut pieces.
Mix well and pour in to a greased baking tin.
Place the sliced Creme Eggs on top. Don't push them in to the mixture too much because the brownies do rise slightly and envelope the eggs. You can put as many as you want but I tend to create just nine massive brownies. Which means you have half a Creme Egg left over. A perfect little treat for the chef.
Cook at 180 C / Gas Mark 4 for 20 - 25 mins. Keep checking on them and pull them out when they are at the consistency you want. Don't forget that they will continue to cook for a while once you have got them out of the oven.
Hope you enjoy these as much as our household does. We make these time and time again because they are just so nice. This is also a favourite recipe for me to make with H because they are so easy to do. The only downside is that left over half is never mine when he helps out!
Let me know how you get on.
