Month of Firsts – June 2017

Month of Firsts – June 2017

Here we go again, time to round up the firsts for another month.  I started this series of posts because I have a type of epilepsy that affects my short-term memory.  Quite simply if I don’t write it down I forget it.  I don’t want to forget the moments that have brought a smile to my face, those that pulled at my heart-strings and even those that left me wanting to rip my hair out in frustration.  There is a bit of a mix this month, so Harry here is what you got up to in the month of June:

  • Had your first sleep over – eventually. Ga-Ga finally offered and Mummy and Daddy went out to celebrate!
  • Pulled a moonie in the middle of a restaurant – we has just been swimming and you complained you were itchy. I asked you to show me where. Instantly you pulled your pants down and parted your bum cheeks to show me the exact spot.  It’s fair to say it wasn’t what anyone was expecting.
  • Got a kitten – Skye from Paw Patrol.  Which is how you introduce her to everyone.

Month of Firsts, Cute Kitten, Skye

  • Lost a toe nail – you are forever banging your toes and it doesn’t seem to matter whether you have shoes on or not. It was very amusing hearing you tell people you were “growing a new toe”.
  • Rode in a wheelbarrow – at breakneck speed across the drive and the back garden, didn’t he Daddy!!!????!!!

Month of Firsts, Wheelbarrow Ride

  • Went to a school dressed as a crocodile – It was yet another dress up day at school. This time the theme was safari day. It is a dinosaur costume that doubles up nicely as a crocodile suit.
  • Climbed up South Stack – well part of the way.  You are not known for your love of walking so I ignored you when you said you were poorly.  I was soon made to feel really guilty.  On the way home in the car you were sick.  Very sick indeed.  I stripped you down to your undies, wiped you down with my hoody, and washed everything down with what was left in my water bottle.  Thank god for leather car seats.

Month of Firsts, South Stack

  • School report – I am so proud of you. So what if you can’t recognise numbers very well, or you find holding a pen a bit difficult (you pick up everything with your left but you hold everything better with your right….) what was important to me was your attitude. And Son, you are a tryer, you don’t like to disappoint, you like to make people smile and you are caring.  All things I know but it’s always nice to know other people know that too.

Love you x
